The objectives of the Belgian Handflight Fund
  • Making accessible the recreational flying sports in Belgium to people with a lower limb disability.
  • Making accessible the club houses and recreational airport infrastructures to disabled pilots and disabled visitors.
  • Granting scholarships to candidate pilots to help them finance their pilot training & courses

The objectives of the founders of Handflight
  • Informing disabled people during and after their rehabilitation about the possibilities to fly as disabled person.
  • Informing all flying clubs and associations that we are there to help them to invite them to adapt their airplanes and infrastructures to allow disabled persons to fly as well.

What kind of projects do we have in mind?
  • As a matter of fact, every person or flying club can contact us with ideas or suggestions and apply a project request. Things we already have in mind are:

             - adapting at least one sports aircraft in Flanders and one in Wallonia (JAR PPL)
            - adapting gliders airplanes
            - adapting an Ultralight Aircraft as well. (ULM)
            - any project requested for by a flying association will be evaluated

  • For the moment we are completing our first big project in Flying Club Ursel. This will be the first Belgian flying club that will adapt one of their Piper aircrafts with quick removable EASA certified hand controls. We plan a  big inauguration day in the month of September 2009 at the Ursel airfield (EBUL). At the very same event conference we will also present our Belgian Handflight Fund.
